This one of our most popular hampers, and makes the perfect gift when you want to really help out a family having a busy or hard time. The Main Event delivers a gorgeous box of chilled delicious, hand made, fresh family-sized evening meals to the door to fill the fridge or freezer and help lighten the load.

The Main Event

Three generous pre-prepared family meals to cook in the oven or microwave (each meal serves 4-6 people and is approx. 1.2kg). Handmade by chefs in Wellington with local ingredients.

Classic Beef Lasagne - A true classic! Locally sourced beef simmered in tomatoes and herbs, layered in pasta and topped with a rich cheese sauce.
Chicken & Tarragon Pie - Tender pieces of chicken, potato, and fresh spinach, cooked with fragrant tarragon in a light, creamy sauce, all nestled beneath a beautiful layer of flaky pastry.
Kumara and Lentil Cottage Pie (gf/v) - A herby, tomato lentil base, packed with hearty lentils and beans, with a golden kumara topping and sunflower seeds, makes for a cosy bake that will warm you up from the inside out.
Optional - Add sides - Add a loaf of Ciabatta bread and our favourite Chocolate Caramel Slice to enjoy with these meals.
Hand-written Gift Card - Don't forget to add a message of love to go with your gift, which will be hand-written especially for you on a gorgeous gift card by our team of Angels.

Vegetarian? The Main Event is available in Vegetarian, with a Kumara & Lentil Cottage Pie, Roast Capsicum Tomato & Feta Tart (contains cheese), and Vegetable Korma Pie as the 3 meal options. Sorry but we can't do a Vegan Main Event option.

The overnight delivery cost for this gift is $29 (or $49 for Premium). Rural or Saturday delivery costs $10 extra. The exact delivery fee to your exact address will be shown on the Checkout page.

We deliver gifts nationwide across New Zealand to all addresses, including rural gift delivery. We deliver from Monday-Saturday (no Sunday deliveries). Monday, Saturday, Rural and Same-Day delivery costs extra.

Important note: Delivery dates cannot be guaranteed. If your order is for a specific date or event (like a birthday), please order a day ahead to be safe.

What Time Do I Need to Order By? - If you need next day delivery, please make sure your order is placed before 12noon the day before. Cut-off times for same-day delivery vary depending on the region - it will be clear what date is available for your postcode when you enter this on the above calendar date picker.
Rural Delivery - Rural delivery usually takes 2 days to arrive, and costs an extra $10. Our fresh meal care packages and flowers are packaged well, with plenty of ice and insulation where needed, in order to stay chilled for 2-3 days, so your gift will arrive safely. If you'd prefer, you can nominate an urban pick-up point for gifts bound for rural addresses. NZ Post has many pick-up points, so please call us on 0800 826 435 to discuss - we can make it as convenient as possible for the recipients.
Time of Delivery - We cannot specify the time of delivery on a given day sorry, as individual courier schedules in each suburb change from one day to another and this is out of our control.
Public Holidays - Gifts cannot be dispatched or delivered on public holidays, as couriers do not operate on these days.

Our friends were so delighted to receive the package we sent to their family. I received a lively photo of my friend (with dementia) enjoying/ loving the cake they received. I was so delighted as she used to own a cafe in Oamaru so is/was a great cook!!
